The Eternal City
Two girls strolling around, chatting, and having fun in a magnificent city on a lovely morning in spring.
To be spending a happy time walking about in the city with your friend is already a great idea. And it’s even better if that city happens to be a winking, sunny Rome. What more could WE ask for?!
When you live in a big city like Rome, sometimes, you may take many things for granted. It’s common to see all those monuments on a daily basis while transiting the streets and let them fall in the background of our hectic lives.
So we wanted to pause for a moment and for once turn up our noses to the sky in order to realize the majesty and magnificence of this magical city.
Rome, the city many people want to visit at least once in their lives, will now be seen through our eyes as we play the roles of Roman tourists in order to remind ourselves and tell you a bit about its beauty.
You may start by taking a ride to Piazza Venezia where you will see how it’s dominated by the Altare della Patria ( Altar of the Fatherland), then find yourself at the bottom of the staircase of Ara Coeli and go up to the Campidoglio (Capitol) until you reach the ancient Roman Forum. In just a few hundred meters you can find years and years of history.
In the green
However Rome is not only art, culture and history, it is also nature. Many are its green areas, Villa Borghese, Villa Pamphili, Villa Torlonia, Villa Ada. We decided to relax for a bit at Villa Ada after a long day of strolling through the streets of the city.
We enjoyed the last hours of daylight before saying goodbye to this beautiful day, immersed in the greenery and serenity of Villa Ada.
Finally, in the words of Alberto Sordi in an interview with Roberto Rotondo, we end with: “because Rome is not a city like any other. It is a great museum, a living room to cross on tiptoe “. So we did, enjoying every little moment and paying attention to all those details that distinguish it.
